Oxford Area High School Pre-School enrollment available
Enrollment is currently available for the Oxford Area High School Child Development Lab Preschool.
The preschool program provides children ages three to five with the opportunity to learn school readiness skills from high school students in the Child Care: Working with Children courses. The students work with the pre-school children twice a week.
Part of the high school’s “Career Pathways” initiative, the childcare course provides practical experience to students who are interested in careers in early childhood education. Students learn about the development of pre-school aged children as well as behavior management teaching techniques.
The students learn to prepare a safe environment for the preschoolers and develop appropriate teaching activities. A classroom component focuses on childcare theories and explores career opportunities that involve working with children.
The students create all of the pre-school lesson plans, which include activities designed to develop math, science and social studies skills.
A Parent Handbook and Welcome Packet which includes complete information and necessary forms for enrolling your preschool child is available by clicking here.
