Emergency Management seeks Penn's Grove POD site volunteers
|
This following is a public service announcement by Oxford Regional Emergency Management (OXREM): Penns Grove Middle School, located at 301 S. Fifth Street, Oxford has been designated as a Point of Dispensing (POD) site in case of a disaster, which would mean dispensing medicine/antidotes to the community and surrounding areas. POD sites are set up all over the county, state and nation. Dispensing medication to the 30,000 plus people of our community is a huge task. Volunteers are needed for all types of duties at the POD site including medical, security, logistics, etc. A volunteer informational meeting will be held on Thursday, April 26 at 6 p.m. at Penn's Grove Middle School. All community members are welcome to attend. This would be a great opportunity to give back to your community and help your neighbors in a time of need. If you or anyone you know is interested in volunteering, please contact Janet Zeis, Volunteer Management Coordinator, Chester County Department of Emergency Services at 610 344-5014 or jzeis@chesco.org. A brief video explaining POD can be viewed by clicking here. An invitation letter to potential volunteers and a volunteer signup form can be dowloaded by clicking here. More information will be available at www.oxrem.org. |
