Chesco Pops returns to Oxford Area High School for July 12 concert
As part of its Summer 2012 series, the Chester County Pops Orchestra will return to Oxford Area High School for a performance on Thursday, July 12 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 seniors, $5 students, and free for children 12 and under. Tickets can be purchased at the Pops website, www.chescopops.org and will be available at the door.
Titled “Lights ... Camera ... Music!” the program will feature melodies and memories from classic movies and popular TV shows. Songwriters to be featured include by Frank Loesser, Cole Porter,
The Chesco Pops, a 65-piece orchestra made up of many of the county’s finest players, has presented concerts in more than a dozen Chester County venues since its inception in 2005, including nine performances at Oxford Area High School. Music director Jacques Voois noted that the school is one of the orchestra’s favorite places to play.
“The auditorium is a real gem,” he said. “It has both visual beauty and acoustical integrity. In my opinion, Oxford has the finest high school auditorium in Chester County.”
